WITH LOVE: THE STORY BEHIND SIENNA SWIM'S MOST PERSONAL COLLECTION
When we first started talking about creating a bridal-inspired swim collection for Sienna Swim, I immediately started saving everything that caught my eye. Not swimsuits. Just little moments.
A piece of vintage lace from one of my grandma’s handkerchiefs. A pearl button on the back of an old wedding dress. A handwritten note tied with ribbon. Photos of white linen blowing in the wind, a table set for dinner by the water, a beach umbrella on the Amalfi Coast. Both real mementos and photos on Pinterest that made me stop for a second because they felt like something, even if I couldn't explain exactly what.
Looking back now, it's funny because none of those things had anything to do with swimwear. But somehow, they became swimwear.
As I started planning for this season of my life, I realized I wasn't searching for something that felt "bridal." I was searching for something that felt romantic. Timeless. The kind of pieces I'd still want to wear years from now because they reminded me of a place or a moment, not just an occasion.
That became the starting point for Sienna Swim's newest collection, With Love.
The process was slower than I expected. We'd receive a sample, think we were close, and then realize the lace didn't feel quite right. We'd compare fabrics that looked almost identical but somehow felt completely different. There were tiny details we probably spent far too much time on, but those ended up becoming some of my favorite parts of the collection.
I love that some of those details aren't obvious. The lace inspired by vintage handkerchiefs. The gold threads woven so subtly into the fabric that they only catch the light when you move. The delicate blue trim that quietly nods to a tradition so many people have grown up with. They're the kinds of things you notice slowly, and I think that's what makes them special.
Even though my own wedding is just around the corner now (I'll post everything on Instagram), somewhere along the way this past year, I realized our With Love collection wasn't really about weddings anymore.
It's about those seasons of life that feel a little more magical than usual. A honeymoon, of course, but also an anniversary, a birthday trip, a weekend with your best friends, or a vacation you've been counting down to for months. It's about celebrating, whatever that looks like for you.
I've always loved how clothing can hold memories. You put something on years later, and suddenly you're back in that exact moment. You remember the beach, the dinner, the conversation, the way the air felt that night. It's amazing how something so simple can carry so much with it.
My hope is that With Love becomes that for someone. Not because it's saved for one special day, but because it's there for all of the little moments that end up becoming the ones you never forget.
